LONDON (Alliance News) - Howard Davies is set to become the next chairman of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC, replacing outgoing Chairman Philip Hampton, the Financial Times reported on Monday.
Davies, the former head of the Financial Services Authority, is expected to take on the role over the summer, the FT said, citing three people familiar with RBS's plans. An announcement may be made as early as this week, when the bank is due to publish its full-year results.
Davies is currently the chairman of insurance group Phoenix Group Holdings PLC and is the head of the government's Airports Commission, the body responsible for making a recommendation on boosting the UK's airport capacity.
