PRESS: GVC Would Consider Going Hostile On Bwin.Party Bid - The Times

2nd Sep 2015 05:37

LONDON (Alliance News) - The chairman of AIM-listed gaming company GVC Holdings PLC said on Tuesday that the company would consider going hostile in its takeover bid for larger target Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment PLC should the latter decide to go with a rival offer from 888 Holdings PLC, The Times reported.

Lee Feldman said GVC would consider taking its offer directly to shareholders should the Bwin.Party board recommend the lower offer made for the company by 888, according to the newspaper. On Monday, Bwin.Party said 888 had entered a revised offer, having seen its original, agreed bid trumped in by GVC.

Asked on Tuesday whether GVC has considered going hostile, he said the company had "certainly thought about it". Feldman said GVC did not consider this route to be necessary right now "as we're offering a higher price and have a better operating track record", the newspaper reported.
