PRESS: French Firm To Win UK Passport Contract Over De La Rue

LONDON (Alliance News) - Banknote security firm De La Rue PLC is set to lose its contract to produce UK passports to a French company, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday.

Gemalto, a Paris-based security company, is expected to win the tender process ahead of De La Rue for the contract, which will start in 2019.

De La Rue currently holds a contract to make the UK's passports worth GBP490.0 million over 10 years, the newspaper said.
