PRESS: Eurofighter Deliveries Halted Due To BAE Fault - Bloomberg

2nd Oct 2014 10:19

LONDON (Alliance News) - Deliveries of the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft have been put on hold following the discovery of a construction fault in the fuselage assemblies made by BAE Systems PLC, Bloomberg reported on Thursday.

The FTSE 100-listed aerospace and defence company halted fuselage production last month following checks which showed problems in the drilling work, according to a letter sent by the German Defence Ministry to the country's parliament's Budget Committee, Bloomberg said.

The glitches impact all 390 jets delivered, including those used by the UK, Spain and Italy, the letter said.

The Eurofighter programme is being managed by BAE Systems, Airbus Group and Alenia Aermacchi, a subsidiary of Italian industrial group Finmeccanica SpA.
