PRESS: Camden Town Craft Brewer Bought By AB InBev - Times

22nd Dec 2015 06:58

LONDON (Alliance News) - AB InBev is set to acquire Camden Town Brewery, a craft beer maker, The Times reported on Tuesday.

Agreeing to be bought by the world's biggest drinks company puts at risk the independent image cultivated by Camden Town Brewery, which is known for making Camden Hells lager.

The price paid by AB InBev has not been disclosed, according to the Times.

AB InBev itself is merging with SAB Miller in a GBP76.0 billion deal that is set to create the biggest brewer in the world.

SAB Miller is the owner of Greenwich, London-based Meantime Brewing Co, which it acquired in May, months before agreeing to a merger with AB InBev. Earlier this month, AB InBev included Meantime among a group of SABMiller premium brands in Europe that it may sell in order to receive regulatory approval for the merger.
