(Alliance News) - BT Group PLC is considering the sale of BT Sport, its sports television arm that shows Premier League football matches, the Financial Times reported Wednesday, citing "multiple people with knowledge of the process".
BT has appointed investment bankers Lazard and has held talks with companies including sports streaming service Dazn, Amazon.com Inc, Walt Disney Co and private equity companies, the newspaper said, according to "a person with direct knowledge of the situation".
This could lead to a full disposal of BT Sport, the formation of a joint venture, or the sale of a stake, the FT said.

The news was first reported by the Telegraph. The newspaper said that a British broadcaster also is involved in the discussions and noted that BT has a long-standing partnership with ITV, though it also has worked with Channel 4 and the BBC.
The Telegraph said Dazn was "most keen", according to its source.
