LONDON (Alliance News) - A group of British telecoms firms, including BT Group PLC, EE, Telefónica O2 UK Limited, TalkTalk Telecom Group PLC and Vodafone Group PLC, plan to release a statement warning that Scottish Independence could lead to increases in costs, Sky News reported Friday.
The statement is being co-ordinated by the Confederation of British Industry, Sky reported.
President of the CBI, Mike Rake, is also chairman of BT.
It could be issued as soon as Friday afternoon if an agreement can be reached on the wording, the report said, although at least two of the companies are said to be undecided about whether or not to put their names to the statement.
A spokesperson for BT was not immediately available to comment.
