LONDON (Alliance News) - BP PLC's attempt to have the administrator overseeing the payouts to businesses and individuals related to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill was rejected by a US federal court judge, Reuters reported on Monday.
US District Judge Carl Barbier in New Orleans rejected several arguments entered by BP to remove Patrick Juneau, the claims administrator.
BP had claimed Juneau had a conflict of interest due to a previous role advising Louisiana over claims, said he had made misleading statements about that work, and argued that he improperly sped up claims of people represented by the Plaintiff's Steering Committee, Reuters said.
