LONDON (Alliance News) - The Bank of England could be readying itself to probe allegations over questionable taxation services offered to clients by HSBC's Swiss private banking unit, according to the Financial Times on Friday.
According Jon Cunliffe, a deputy governor at the Bank of England, the allegations are "certainly something that could be of relevance to us", the FT said.
Cunliffe was speaking on BBC Radio 4.
HSBC shares were up 0.2% at 597.80 pence on Friday, although the stock is down 3.8% this week.
