LONDON (Alliance News) - The broader participation of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd in the F-35 fighter programme may be delayed by a UK inter-governmental row over subsidies, Reuters reports Monday.
The dispute may mean Mitsubishi, Japan's biggest arms manufacturer, is forced to renegotiate a deal with BAE Systems PLC under which it is due to supply F-35 rear fuselage components as part of an international consortium, Reuters said, citing two sources familiar with the matter.
One of the two sources said Mitsubishi would "likely have to backtrack on its earlier agreement, but if BAE can wait, something could be worked out."
In mid-morning trade, BAE Systems shares were up 0.4% at 427.90 pence.
