LONDON (Alliance News) - Japanese brewery and soft drinks company Asahi Holdings Group is reportedly offering USD3.5 billion to buy SABMiller PLC's Peroni and Grolsch beer brands, according to the Nikkei Asian Review.
Italian Peroni and Dutch Grolsch are being sold as part of SABMiller's takeover by rival Anheuser-Busch InBev NV in order to ease competition concerns about the mega-merger.
Last month, the Financial Times reported that Asahi and Thailand's Thai Beverage were among the bidders which had progressed to the next round of bidding for the two brands.
