LONDON (Alliance News) - Afren PLC has fired its chief executive officer and chief operating officer for gross misconduct following an investigation into unauthorised payments, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday.
Citing an emailed statement from the company dated Monday, Bloomberg said Afren has fired both Osman Shahenshah and Shahid Ullah and has started legal action to recover its missing funds. The pair, along with three other staff, were suspended in July and August amid a review of their transactions.
The termination of the pair comes following an inquiry by Afren into payments between the company and its partners in 2012 and 2013.
