LONDON (Alliance News) - Car insurance premiums increased in the third quarter for the first time in over two years, with more rises predicted, the BBC reported Wednesday, citing the AA British Insurance Premium Index.
The index, which tracks the cheapest comprehensive cover available, rose GBP6, or 1.2%, in the three months to the end of September, the AA said.
For the overall market, premiums were up 4.2% over the same period to an average of GBP891.
