LONDON (Alliance News) - Premier Oil PLC Thursday said it has plugged and abandoned its latest exploration well in the Norwegian North Sea after it intersected a reservoir that was clogged with water.
The FTSE 250-listed company said the 3/7-10 S exploration well on the PL 539 licence in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea encountered around 110 metres of good reservoir quality, but it contained water rather than oil, resulting in the company plugging and abandoning the well as a dry hole.
Premier has a 40% interest in the well, which was drilled to a depth of 3,464 metres to target the Myrhauk prospect.
