Premier Oil Makes Progress At Solan; Falklands Islands Drilling Ahead

23rd Dec 2015 07:36

LONDON (Alliance News) - Premier Oil PLC on Wednesday said it has made progress on the Solan field in the UK North Sea and said drilling at its Falklands Islands project is running ahead of plan.

The oil and gas explorer said tanker trials have been completed at Solan, though it said the start-up of first oil flows from the projects will be dependent on weather conditions. Though weather was mostly favourable for the company in September and October, this took a turn in November and December, resulting in a number of lost work days.

Premier Oil said it expects first oil from Solan in January.

Elsewhere, the company said drilling work on the Isobel-Elaine project area in the Falklands Islands is running ahead, with results from the Isobel Deep re-drill well set to come in the early part of 2016.
