LONDON (Alliance News) - Tungsten producer Premier African Minerals Ltd said on Friday it has started diamond drilling programme at the open pit at the RHA Tungsten Mine.
The company plans to drill 15 inclined 50 metre deep holes to determine the depth at which the ore body is consolidated to allow the resuming of open pit mining. This stage of the drill programme is expected to be completed by the end of September.
At the same time, the open pit is now being remapped using ultraviolet lighting to create a more definitive understanding of the mineralisation of the pit.
"The company expects to release details of potential reprocessing of historic tailings in support of the reopening of underground operations. Contact with the government of Zimbabwe remains open and we expect that following the inauguration of the President, final hurdles on the equity restructure at RHA will conclude," Premier African Minerals said in a statement.
Shares in Premier African Minerals were down 1.1% at 0.17 pence on Friday.
