Premier African Minerals' RHA Project Tests Suggest Ore Convergence

21st Nov 2018 14:53

LONDON (Alliance News) - Premier African Minerals Ltd on Wednesday said recent drill results from the RHA tungsten mine in Zimbabwe suggest ore body convergence to the south east of the main mining areas.

The company, which holds 49% interest and is the operator of the RHA mine, said all drill holes at the mine targeting underground depth and strike extension have intersected mineralised zones.

The most potentially significant intersection was found in hole RHADD37, with a drill width of 2.5 metres from 122.9 metres. Its grading was 7.1 kilograms of tungsten trioxide per ton of ore, which indicates the potential convergence of ore body lode structures at RHA.

Multiple high-grade intersections were found, including at hole RHADD40 where intersections included 26.7 kilograms of tungsten trioxide per ton of ore over 71 centimetres from 145.8 metres.

Hole RHADD35 intersected 2.0 kilograms per ton of tungsten trioxide over 265 centimetres from 81.5 metres.

"Most encouraging are the multiple high-grade intersections and the potential convergence of the ore bodies as we move southeast of the main mining areas," said Premier African Chief Executive George Roach.

"Whilst the nature of the ore body at RHA is 'spotty' with big variances over short distances, the sheer number of high-grade intersections is most encouraging," Roach added.

Roach said that test results confirm mineralisation in an increasingly easterly direction and said the pit may be extended in the future. This would require construction of a decline shaft, as extending the open pit in an easterly direction would interfere with the existing vertical shaft.

Shares in Premier African were up 0.2% at 0.13 pence on Wednesday.
