LONDON (Alliance News) - Medical devices firm Premaitha Health PLC on Wednesday said it has signed a partnership with Visional Medical to launch its IONA non-invasive pre-natal test in India.
Visional Medical, a newly-formed organisation based in the UK and India, has been created to try and improve the provision of diagnostic tests in developing markets.
Under the agreement, Premaitha and Visional have signed an agreement for Visional to provide access to the IONA test to pregnant women in India.
No financial details on the agreement were disclosed.
"The potential market for NIPT in India is huge - there are millions of pregnancies every year and currently little provision of any prenatal screening. Our partnership with Visional Medical will provide a risk-free, rapid and reliable prenatal screening test to address this unmet medical need," said Premaitha Chief Executive Stephen Little.
Shares in Premaitha were up 2.3% to 16.50 pence on the news.
