LONDON (Alliance News) - Premaitha Health PLC said Wednesday that it has opened a new dedicated laboratory that will triple its capacity, in order to respond to demand for its non-invasive prenatal screening test IONA.
The IONA test is used to screen for the risk of a foetus being affected by Down's syndrome and other serious genetic conditions by analysing a sample of the mothers blood.
The new laboratory is based at Premaitha's headquarters on Manchester Science Park and will allow the company to "dramatically increase throughput", it said.
Shares in Premaitha were up 5.5% at 14.64 pence Wednesday morning.
