Polarean Imaging Secures Polariser Unit Order From Canadian Hospital

LONDON (Alliance News) - Medical imaging technology firm Polarean Imaging PLC said Wednesday it has received a research unit order from a Canadian hospital.

Polarean explained the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto had made a research unit order for a Polarean 9820 Xenon hyperpolariser system, the order was funded by a grant from the Canada Foundation for Innovation.

No financial details for the order were provided by Polarean.

The 9820 Xenon unit will be used by the major paediatric research and teaching hospital alongside an earlier model of the Polarean polariser which was recently upgraded. Following the order, Polarean would have sold or had on order 24 polariser units.

"We are very happy to extend our long-standing relationship with SickKids Hospital in Toronto who work tirelessly on the paediatric applications of hyperpolarised xenon imaging for this important patient population", Polarean Chief Executive Officer Richard Hullihen said.

Shares in Polarean were untraded at 14.32 pence on Wednesday.
