Polar Capital Appoints Former St James Place Director As New Chair

7th Apr 2020 11:17

(Alliance News) - Polar Capital Holdings PLC said Tuesday it has appointed David Lamb to the asset manager's board with effect on Thursday.

He will then take up the role of non-executive chair at the annual general meeting in late July, replacing Tom Bartlam after 13 years in the role and the board since 2007.

Lamb is deputy chair of the board of governors at the University of West of England. Prior to this, he was managing director of Investments at St James's Place for 27 years from 1992 to 2019.

In addition, Andrew Ross will be appointed as non-executive director on Thursday. He is currently vice-chair of Wealth Management at Schroders PLC.

"I would like to thank Tom for his dedication to the group throughout his tenure as chairman and invaluable advice. I also look forward to welcoming David and Andrew as members of the board and working with them as the group continues to grow and diversify," said Chief Executive Gavin Rochussen.

Shares in Polar Capital Holdings were 6.6% higher at 399.70 pence on Tuesday in London.
