LONDON (Alliance News) - Plexus Holdings PLC Monday said a subsidiary of BG Group PLC has signed up to become the sixth oil and gas consulting partner to the ongoing joint industry project being run by Plexus.
The project is designed to develop and commercialise a new and safer subsea wellhead system which would utilise the POS-GRIP friction-grip technology from Plexus. It aims to address some technical issues and challenges identified by regulators in the wake of BP PLC's Gulf of Mexico oil spill in April 2010, oil and gas engineering services provider Plexus said.
The members of the joint industry project now include BG, via its BG International Ltd subsidiary, along with Total SA, AP Moller?Maersk Group, Royal Dutch Shell PLC, Wintershall Holding GmbH, Tullow Oil PLC, Eni SpA, Oil States Industries Inc, Senergy Holdings Ltd and "the UK entity of the world's largest offshore drilling company", which Plexus did not name.
"I believe that the addition of another major operator to the project team is testimony to the significance of this project for the international oil and gas community," said Plexus Chief Executive Ben Van Bilderbeek.
Plexus shares rose 1.6% to 265.00 pence in early trade Monday.
