Playtech To Formally Challenge Irish Opposition To AvaTrade Deal

6th Oct 2015 06:45

LONDON (Alliance News) - Playtech PLC Tuesday said it will formally challenge the Central Bank of Ireland's decision to oppose its acquisition of Ava Trade Ltd, after the Irish financial services regulator clarified its position to the company.

On Monday, Playtech reported it had received a letter from the regulator opposing its proposed USD105 million deal to buy contracts-for-difference broker Ava Trade. The deal has already been approved by the Financial Services Commission of the British Virgin Islands.

Playtech said Tuesday it has opted to formally challenge the decision following the clarification and having taken legal advice.
