(Alliance News) - Playtech PLC said on Tuesday that it signed a partnership with NorthStar Gaming Inc, a Canadian online casino and sports wagering company.
The Isle of Man-based gambling software firm said the partnership will provide NorthStar with Playtech's information management solution platform in an exclusive Canadian partnership.
The platform allows operators full visibility and control of the entire player lifecycle from one centralised point for all operational needs, Playtech explained. It also allows operators to customise the look of their products, configure and select their communications channels and define a risk strategy according to their own policies, the company added.
Following the completion of regulatory approvals and the licensing process, NorthStar will be able to launch Playtech's IMS Platform, casino, live casino, poker and bingo software to Canadian audiences.
NorthStar was described by Playtech as being born out of a Canadian media business and news organisation which it did not name. In 2021, NorthStar announced it would launch an online betting brand and sportsbook.
Since then, the company has entered an omnichannel advertising and marketing services arrangement with Torstar Corp, a Canadian media company which is known for publishing the Toronto Star.
NorthStar said in its own statement that it intends to provide an all-encompassing online casino and sports betting experience.
Chief Executive of Playtech, Mor Weizer said: "We are delighted to announce our partnership with NorthStar Gaming as it prepares to launch its market leading online gaming business in Canada. Our success is driven by strategic partnerships with industry leading operators around the world and we are excited to partner with a leading entertainment company like NorthStar Gaming".
"NorthStar Gaming is thrilled to be the exclusive Canadian partner in the media and publishing sector with Playtech," said Michael Moskowitz, chief executive of NorthStar.
Shares in Playtech were up 0.1% at 712.50 pence on Tuesday afternoon in London.
