LONDON (Alliance News) - Plant Health Care PLC said Wednesday it has signed a deal with an undisclosed "major industry player" to evaluate its Innatus 3G peptide technology platform.
This platform enables the design, production and screening of a large pipeline of peptides - naturally occurring biological molecules- that can be used for the treatment of seeds or leaves, or combined with conventional crop protection chemicals.
"Over the past few months, we have been in active discussions with a number of major industry players that have the development and commercialisation capabilities to exploit the full potential of our Innatus 3G peptide platform. The response has been very positive and we are pleased to announce our first agreement arising from these discussions as we continue the dialogue with other major players," said Chief Executive Officer Paul Schmidt in a statement.
Additionally, the company has been bolstered its research and development team, adding 4 staff over the last year and a half. I plans to double its headcount of research personnel in 2015, and in mid-2015 to relocate to a larger research facility in Seattle.
Shares in Plant Health Care are trading up 3.1% at 118.00 pence Wednesday morning at market open.
