LONDON (Alliance News) - PipeHawk PLC on Friday said its QM Systems division has won a contract extension for the 2020 materials handling system project at Ultrasteel Products Ltd, worth more than GBP900,000.
The division already successfully completed Phase 1 of the project, PipeHawk said, though did not say what Phase 1 entailed.
Phase 2, which QM Systems will now undertake under the contract extension, will involve the expansion of the existing system installed to provide full automation to an additional production line at the Ultrasteel facility.
PipeHawk said QM Systems will also work to provide the ability to remove forklift traffic from inside the building for the two automated lines, with the product to be automatically transited outside of the existing building providing a far safer working environment for Hadley personnel under this second phase.
The contract for the second phase of the works is worth GBP900,000 and is due for completion within the current financial year, PipeHawk added.
"We look forward to our continued partnership with Hadley Industries over the coming months and years and we thank them for their openness and supportive approach to deliver this vision," said PipeHawk Chairman Gordon Watt.
Shares in PipeHawk were up 17% at 4.81 pence on Friday.
