Photonstar LED Retrofits Circadian Lighting System At NHS Hospital

27th Oct 2015 08:43

LONDON (Alliance News) - Smart lighting products company Photonstar LED Group PLC on Tuesday said it has completed a full circadian lighting retrofit project of a dementia care ward of an unnamed hospital in London.

The system uses Photonstar's halcyon wireless lighting and control system and its halcyonLIFE lights.

Circadian lighting mimics natural daylight in the day and creates as close to 'biological darkness' as possible at night by changing the colour and spectrum automatically throughout a 24-hour period, said Photonstar.

No financial details on the project were disclosed.

"We are delighted to be playing a major role in this innovative approach by the NHS to the care of patients with dementia. This project is a clear demonstration of the health benefits and cost effectiveness of our Halcyon wireless lighting and control systems in both public and private environments," said Chief Executive James McKenzie.

Shares in Photonstar were up 0.6% to 3.1444 pence on Tuesday morning.
