LONDON (Alliance News) - Smart LED lighting products company Photonstar LED Group PLC on Tuesday said it has been awarded a GBP123,400 grant by the UK's Technology Strategy Board.
Photonstar said the grant, awarded against eligible costs of up to GBP205,700, has been provided for the "Smart In-Building Micro-Grid for Energy Management" project, which will focus on developing energy management technology for buildings.
Photonstar is working on the project alongside machine-to-machine technology company Xsilon Ltd and Manchester Metropolitan University.
"We are delighted to be participating in this project, which will enable us to further extend the energy monitoring and future building management capabilities of our wireless intelligent lighting system halcyon. We also anticipate control extensions to the platform to include power line communications," said Photonstar Chief Executive James McKenzie.
