Pets at Home To Tap Client Databases, Creates Chief Data Officer Post

10th Oct 2018 08:37

LONDON (Alliance News) - Pets at Home Group PLC on Wednesday reported continuation of trading momentum and said that it has created a new chief data officer post to tap into the company's veterinary client databases.

The retailer has appointed Royal Mail PLC executive Robert Kent as chief data officer. Kent, who will join at the start of November, previously was chief data officer at the postal services company for nearly eight years and head of Programme Delivery for two years.

"The chief data officer is both a new and strategically important appointment for Pets at Home, where Robert's wealth of expertise will help us maximise the value of our data. In particular, uniting the huge volume of pet and customer information that sits within our VIP loyalty scheme and veterinary client databases, so we can deliver products and services to customers that are more relevant and convenient," said Pets at Home Chief Executive Peter Pritchard.

The pet products company also reported the departure of Vet division chief Andrei Balta. Pritchard will temporarily assume the Vet Group chief executive role.

Shares in Pets at Home were down 0.6% at 120.70 pence each.
