(Alliance News) - PetroTal Corp said on Monday that an earthquake of 7.5 in magnitude hit northern Peru over the weekend but that its facilities had not been damaged.
The Texas-based oil and gas company also reported no injuries related to the earthquake.
The epicentre was approximately 98km from the town of Santa Maria de Nieva, the capital of the province of Condorcanqui, and 400km from Bretana.
Earthquakes are relatively common in Peru, with PetroTal's facilities designed to withstand earthquakes of equal or greater scale to the one seen on Sunday.
Shares in PetroTal were up 2.9% at 17.50 pence on Monday in London.
