Petropavlovsk hires new CFO from Russian firm East Mining Co

24th Jan 2022 09:41

(Alliance News) - Petropavlovsk PLC on Monday said it has hired Stanislav Ploshchenko as its new chief financial officer.

The London-based gold mining company with operations in Russia said Ploshchenki will succeed Danila Kotlyarov. Kotlyarov has held the position since February 1, 2020 and will remain at the company until February 28 to ensure smooth transition.

Ploshchenko is currently deputy chief executive officer for Business Efficiency at Moscow-based mining company East Mining Co.

He began his career at Frankfurt-based bank operator Commerzbank AG before joining Moscow-based steel and coal producer Mechel as head of corporate finance and then as chief financial officer for seven years.

He subsequently joined the Russian broadcasting company CTC Media as chief financial officer, overseeing the company's restructuring and eventual de-listing from NASDAQ following an acquisition.

Since 2016, Ploshchenko has served in several senior posts at East Mining Co, including CFO, acting CEO, and his current role as deputy CEO for Business Efficiency.

Shares in Petropavlovsk were down 6.9% at 14.40 pence on Monday morning in London.
