Petrofac Wins New North Sea Wind Farm Connection Deal With Siemens

15th Apr 2014 09:09

LONDON (Alliance News) - Petrofac Ltd Tuesday said it had won a contract to connect a North Sea wind farm to the German-Dutch transmission grid in consortium with Germany's Siemens AG.

It didn't provide any financial details.

In a statement, the company said it had won the contract from TenneT, the German-Dutch transmission grid operator, for connecting the BorWin3 offshore wind farm.

Petrofac will be responsible for the construction and offshore installation of the BorWin3 platform, which will house a Siemens high voltage direct current station that converts the alternating current produced by the wind turbines to direct current before transmitting it onshore to the German national grid.

Petrofac shares were down 1% at 1,399 pence Tuesday morning.
