(Alliance News) - Petra Diamonds Ltd on Tuesday said it has appointed the current chair of Keller Group PLC as it own chair designate.
FTSE 250-listed diamond miner Petra said Peter Hill will join its board effective January 1 as non-executive director and chair designate, before becoming non-executive chair at the end of March 2020. Hill will succeed Adonis Pouroulis, founder and current chair.
At present, Hill is non-executive chair at geotechnical contractor Keller and is also non-executive chair of European and Australasian building products company Volution Group PLC.
Hill has previously chaired the boards of multi-media graphics processor company Imagination Technologies and chemicals firm Alent PLC. He was also chief executive at electronics and technology business Laird PLC.
At Costain Group PLC, Hill was an formerly an executive director on the board and president & CEO of Costain Coal Inc in the US.
Pouroulis said: "We are delighted that Peter will be joining Petra Diamonds. He brings an impressive track record of chairmanships and board memberships across a range of global companies, industries and organisations, built on his earlier career in the mining industry including in Southern Africa, in underground and open pit operations, in planning and in project evaluation and development, in mining finance and as a CEO. I am personally delighted that someone of Peter's calibre and experience will be succeeding me as chairman, and I wish him well."
Shares in Petra were up 1.2% at 8.43 pence in London on Tuesday morning.
