LONDON (Alliance News) - Petra Diamonds Ltd said on Monday it has appointed Bernard Pryor and Varda Shine as non-executive directors with effect on January 1, 2019.
Pryor is chairman of MC Mining Ltd and has been for four years since 2014.
Shine, meanwhile is a non-executive director at platinum group metals producer Lonmin PLC for three years since 2015.
Petra said the appointments were made in plan with the company's three-year succession plan, which is part of Petra's development from a phase of capital expenditure and expansion to a sharper focus on steady-state operations.
"It gives me great pleasure to welcome Varda and Bernard to the board. Their significant experience and expertise in both the mining sector and the diamond world will be a considerable asset to our board, and we look forward to working with them. Today's announcement demonstrates the solid progress the board has made in its succession plan, and we expect to be in a position to make further announcements with regards to board composition later in financial year 2019," said Chairman Adonis Pouroulis.
