Personal Group Confident After Making Progress In First Half Of 2018

20th Jul 2018 09:49

LONDON (Alliance News) - Personal Group PLC said on Friday the first half of 2018 has been a good one for the company, with its core insurance business continuing to do well.

The company, which provides employee benefits services, said its salary sacrifice arm PG Let's Connect had an "encouraging" six months while its software-as-a-service business has increased interim revenue year-on-year.

PG Let's Connect benefited from Royal Mail PLC's salary sacrifice programme, Personal Group said, while it has also been added to the Crown Commercial Services network, which the firm said will "significantly" expand its potential customer base.

Personal Group's SaaS business won two major clients in the period: Dutch recruitment firm Randstad NV and St John Ambulance.

Personal Group said it is progressing towards the launch of its next product version of the Sage Employee Benefits proposition, and it also made "considerable" progress in rationalising its supply chain.

Chief Executive Mark Scanlon said: "Personal Group has performed in line with management's expectations during the first half of the year, which saw improvements across all parts of the business.

"This has provided us with a good foundation as we enter the second half of 2018, which has also started well. The board remains confident in its outlook for the full year."

Shares in the company were down 0.5% on Friday at a price of 463.90 pence each.
