Pennon approves interim operating committee for CEO transition period

9th Dec 2025 10:57

(Alliance News) - Pennon Group PLC on Tuesday said Chair David Sproul will run the firm on an interim basis alongside an operating committee as it confirmed Susan Davy will step down as chief executive officer at the end of December.

The Exeter, England-based water utility said it has approved interim arrangements to cover the period between Davy stepping down and Keith Haslett joining the board as CEO, as announced in September.

Haslett is currently CEO of Hatfield, Hertfordshire-based Affinity Water Ltd, a role he has held since the start of 2023.

Prior to Affinity Water, which supplies water to a number of areas surrounding London, Haslett worked at Northumbrian Water Ltd and United Utilities Group PLC.

Haslett will join Pennon after his notice period, which will be no later than June 30, 2026, Pennon said.

From January 1, Chair David Sproul will take on the role of executive chair.

The firm said Sproul will be supported by an operating committee with "delegated executive authority".

This will be made up of Laura Flowerdew, chief financial officer, Sarah Heald, chief strategy, regulatory affairs & investor relations officer, and Andrew Garard, general counsel and company secretary.

During this period, Pennon said Davy will "remain available to provide handover support to ensure a smooth transition and continuity".

Shares in Pennon Group were up 0.4% at 536.50 pence on Tuesday morning in London.
