22nd Nov 2019 10:59

(Alliance News) - Technical training equipment firm Pennant International Group PLC said Friday its finance chief will be leaving in March, whilst it also appointed Mervyn Skates to the new role of operations director.

Finance Director Gary Barnes will stand down in March after 22 years at the firm. In the meantime, he will ensure the firm is well placed for the financial reporting for 2019 as well as a handover to an unnamed interim replacement who will ensure the completion of the results.

"The group thanks Gary for his many years of loyal service and for the significant contribution he has made," Chief Executive Officer Phil Walker said. "We wish him all the best for the future."

In addition, UK, Europe & Middle East Chief Operating Officer Mervyn Skates has been appointed to the board as operations director from the start of 2020.

"We are very pleased to welcome Mervyn onto the board," Walker said. "His deep operational experience and tenacious approach will undoubtedly benefit the group and help deliver our ambitious growth plans."

Shares in Cheltenham-based Pennant were 0.8% lower at 87.32 pence in London on Friday.
