(Alliance News) - Motor retailer Pendragon PLC on Tuesday said it has appointed Brian Small to the board as non-executive director, effective immediately.
The former chief financial officer at sports-fashion retailer JD Sports Fashion PLC will serve on the board's nomination committee, the remuneration committee, and will take over as audit committee chair from Richard Laxer from January 2 next year.
Small is currently a non-executive director and chair of the audit committee at online fashion retailer Boohoo Group PLC and a non-executive director and chair of the audit committee of parenting products retailer Mothercare PLC.
Pendragon Interim Executive Chair Bill Berman said: "I welcome Brian and look forward to working with him. He has an extensive track record and considerable experience from his career in business, and I am confident he will make a positive contribution to the board as we continue to take the business forward."
Berman took over as executive chair at Pendragon in September, replacing former non-executive chair Chris Chambers. Berman was tasked with finding a permanent non-executive chair and a new chief executive. Mark Herbert, its former chief executive, departed in June by "mutual agreement" amid a series of profit warnings.
Pendragon shares were trading flat in London on Tuesday afternoon at 10.74 pence.
