Pembridge Starts Minto Milling Operations, Produces Copper Concentrate

16th Oct 2019 17:42

(Alliance News) - Pembridge Resources PLC said on Wednesday milling operations at Minto in Yukon, Canada started last week.

The raise boring of the Minto East vent raise was completed at the start of October, and milling operations commenced on Thursday last week. The mill will operate on a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off schedule until sufficient development has been achieved underground to enable a higher monthly processing capacity.

The first concentrate of copper was produced on Friday, and the first underground blast occurred in the Minto East mining area on Sunday. A further 32,279 tonnes of ore at 2.7% copper is planned to be blasted over the next seven days.

"I am incredibly proud of the team at Minto who have worked tirelessly in getting Minto back into production. This is the first step in ramping up Minto to its full capacity, generating value for the employees of Minto Explorations Ltd, the Selkirk First Nation, Pembridge shareholders and the Yukon," said Chair & Chief Executive Gati Al-Jebouri.

Shares in Pembridge are currently suspended, having last traded at 1.275 pence.
