PeerTV Says Projects With Speech Modules Progressing As Planned

2nd Jun 2015 09:06

LONDON (Alliance News) - PeerTV PLC said Tuesday that its two joint projects with Speech Modules Holdings Ltd, in which PeerTV has a 17.7% interest, are proceeding as planned and it has completed the integration of its English language automatic speech recognition system with the TV broadcast system of PeerTV.

PeerTV said this integration is an "important technological milestone" in the development of the two projects; a remote control project, and a subtitling project.

The next step in the remote control project will be undertaken by PeerTV and will involve developing speech recognition capability for the remote control until to return operating commands to a set top box. Speech Modules will continue work on the subtitling project, including developing real-time speech recognition for TV content.

Shares in PeerTV were up 6.7% to 0.288 pence on Tuesday.
