PayPoint Revenue Falls On Warm UK Winter, Delayed Unit Sale

28th Jan 2016 08:30

LONDON (Alliance News) - Payments processor PayPoint PLC on Thursday said its total revenue dipped in the third quarter, hit in part by the unseasonably warm winter weather conditions in the UK.

The FTSE 250-listed company said its total revenue for the quarter to the end of December fell 3.3% to GBP58.1 million, hit by declines in top-up and billing activity. Overall transactions processed in the quarter rose 3.9% to 225.4 million year-on-year.

PayPoint said its progress in the quarter was partially hit by the unseasonably warm winter in the UK and the impact of this on energy consumption, additional costs in its Collect+ business, and a delay on the sale of its mobile payments arm.

Shares in PayPoint were down 3.6% to 800.00 pence early Thursday.
