LONDON (Alliance News) - Marshalls PLC said Wednesday that revenue for the four months ended April 30 rose 10% to GBP149 million, despite recent severe weather conditions in the UK hitting sales.
The stone and concrete paving manufacturer estimated the impact of the bad weather in February and March, which impeded working for several days, to be a GBP9 million hit to sales.
The winter storms affected domestic end market sales, which slowed 2% year-on-year. However, the company said public sector sales were unaffected by the storms and report a 18% increase year-on-year.
The company said that despite the snow, 2018 expectations remain unchanged.
Marshalls shares traded at 429.00 pence down 0.4%.
