LONDON (Alliance News) - Patagonia Gold PLC on Wednesday confirmed that tax on gold exports in Argentina have been removed.
The Argentinian government had last week announced a plan to eliminate the export tax on farm and industrial products, but it has now been confirmed this also will include the removal of the 5.0% tax on mining products, according to Patagonia.
Patagonia said this new measure, along with the recent removal of restrictions on the country's currency and import restrictions, "continues to improve the overall economic environment in Argentina and opens new opportunities" for the company, it said.
Shares in Patagonia were untraded on Wednesday morning, having last traded at 1.59 pence.
