LONDON (Alliance News) - FTSE 250-listed mortgage and personal loan provider Paragon Banking Group PLC said on Friday it has promoted Non-Executive Director Fiona Clutterbuck as chairman, with effect on Thursday.
She will be replacing Bob Dench, who stepped down after 11 years as chairman and 14 years in the company.
Clutterbuck has been a part of Paragon Banking for six years since 2012 and is also currently non-executive director at FTSE 100-listed financial services company Hargreaves Lansdown PLC. She was head of strategy & corporate communications at FTSE 250-listed insurer Phoenix Group Holdings PLC for six years from 2012 to March 2018.
"We carried out a thorough and independent appointment process and it was clear that Fiona was the best candidate to become Paragon's chairman. She has a strong knowledge of Paragon, having been on the board since 2012 and has a wealth of financial experience, having held senior positions at leading UK and international banks," said Chief Executive Nigel Terrington.
"We have been immensely lucky to have been chaired by Bob for the last 14 years but he leaves the company in excellent health and we look forward to what we know will be Fiona's significant contribution to our future," Terrington added.
Shares in Paragon Banking Group were up 0.4% at 548.50 pence on Friday.
