Panthera Resources Commences Fieldwork In Southwestern Mali

29th Oct 2020 11:37

(Alliance News) - Panthera Resources PLC on Thursday said it has commenced fieldwork at its Bassala project in southwestern Mali.

The diversified gold exploration and development company with assets in West Africa and India said ground magnetic surveying is now underway with soil sampling to start in early November.

The surveying and sampling will help define and prioritise drill targets for testing in early 2021, Panthera said.

Historical drill results have already shown "significant" gold mineralisation with 21 metres at 1.215 grams per tonne of gold from 15m including 3m at 4.52 grams per tonne from 33m.

Managing Director Mark Bolton said: "After an extended period of inactivity in West Africa, the recommencement of fieldwork at Bassala today is enormously important for the company."

Panthera shares were up 11% at 12.45 pence each in London on Thursday morning.
