Oxford Instruments Chief Executive To Depart As It Reiterates Guidance

12th Apr 2016 06:41

LONDON (Alliance News) - Oxford Instruments PLC Tuesday said it has promoted Chief Operating Officer Ian Barkshire to Chief Executive, effective from May 11, as it reiterated its guidance for its recently ended financial year.

Incumbent CEO Jonathan Flint will remain on the board until July to complete a smooth transition, the company said. Barkshire has been with the company since 1997, and has also previously held the role of group technical director.

"I am very proud to have led Oxford Instruments for eleven years, working with a dedicated and high quality team to build a global leader in science and industry. Having worked closely with Ian for a number of years, I am confident that he has the qualities to continue Oxford Instruments' evolution at the forefront of technological innovation," said Flint in a statement.

In a brief update the high technology tools and systems provider said that, as anticipated, it had seen a strong performance in its last quarter to end-March, and as such its full year performance will be in-line with expectations.

Oxford Instruments will release its results for the full year on June 15.
