Ortac Says Surface Trenching Completed At Yacob Dewar In Eritrea

30th Jul 2014 10:10

LONDON (Alliance News) - Ortac Resources Ltd Wednesday said exploration partner Andiamo Exploration has completed the surface trenching programme at the Yacob Dewar deposit in Eritrea.

The trenching programme was undertaken along the 1.5 kilometre strike length of the known gold and copper mineralisation at Yacob Dewar. Andiamo excavated 30 trenches totalling 2,362 metres in length to depths of two to six metres.

A total of 1,626 samples were collected from the trench bases and has been sent to the Intertek Genalysis lab in Perth, Australia for chemical analysis, said the company.

"The results will hopefully further confirm what we have seen in the recent excellent drilling results and enable us to model the deposit with much greater confidence and produce a maiden JORC compliant resource estimate for the deposit," said Ortac Chief Executive Vassilios Carellas.

Ortac shares were down 2.3% to 0.254 pence on Wednesday.
