LONDON (Alliance News) - Ortac Resources Limited Monday said it has submitted a Preliminary Environmental Report for its proposed underground mining in Slovakia.
The AIM-listed exploration and development company, with natural resource projects in Europe, said the Sturec deposit environmental report, submitted to the Regional Environmental Office in Banska Stiavnica, is in addition to an existing surface-mining application currently passing through its environmental consideration process.
Ortac said the PER will now undergo a range of rigorous examinations to ensure it meets environmental laws and the requirements of the Slovakian Mining Bureau.
The company said the proposal is to mine 1,000 tonnes per year of high grade gold and silver ores from existing underground development sites.
Ortac Resources shares were up 2.3% to 0.283 pence Monday.
