Orosur Mining Eyes November Drilling Of Anza Asset In Colombia

12th Oct 2020 10:04

(Alliance News) - Orosur Mining Inc on Monday said it hopes to begin drilling its Anza project in Colombia next month, assuming Covid-19 restrictions do not tighten.

Shares in the Toronto-based mineral exploration firm were 14% higher at 18.80 pence each in London on Monday morning.

Orosur said its Colombian unit Minera Anza SA has received COP2.52 billion, about USD650,000 from Minera Monte Aguila SAS as a first payment to fund exploration work at the gold and base metals project for the year beginning September 7.

"Prior to receipt of these funds, Minera Anza and Monte Aguila staff had been developing detailed exploration plans for the re-commencement of field work at Anza once restrictions and risks associated with the Covid-19 pandemic had subsided sufficiently to allow operations to safely resume," Orosur said.

"Commencement of active exploration is still subject to the ebb and flow of the local Covid-19 situation; however, if current positive trends continue, it is hoped that geophysical surveys and drilling should be underway by early November 2020."
