Origin revenue rises on Agriculture and Living Landscapes growth

20th Nov 2025 13:45

(Alliance News) - Origin Enterprises PLC on Thursday reported higher first-quarter revenue, driven by growth across its Agriculture division and a good performance in Living Landscapes.

The Dublin-based agricultural products and services provider said revenue rose 3.6% to EUR486.5 million for the three months to October 31 from EUR469.4 million a year earlier.

Excluding crop marketing, revenue grew 5.3%.

Agriculture revenue edged up 2.0% year-on-year to EUR438.2 million, with volumes ahead of last year in Ireland, the UK, Latin America and Romania, partly offset by weaker activity in Poland.

Origin said early planting had progressed well in all major markets, while winter cropping areas are expected to increase, including UK winter wheat at around 1.72 million hectares compared with 1.65 million a year earlier.

However, the company noted continued caution among farmers due to subdued global grain and oilseed prices, prompting a shift toward lower-cost inputs and "just-in-time" fertiliser purchasing. Order volumes have picked up in recent weeks, the company said.

Living Landscapes delivered the strongest growth, with revenue rising 22% to EUR48.3 million.

Chief Executive Sean Coyle said the group had made a "positive start to the year," citing increased winter cropping in the UK and Romania and continued progress in Latin America. "Overall, the group is well positioned to build on first-quarter momentum," he added.

Shares in Origin Enterprises were 0.4% higher at EUR3.75 in London on Thursday afternoon.
